Hundreds of innocent Englishmen were arrested, detained and put into concentration camps during World War II. The country this was in was not in Germany but in the UK.
Several countries detained scores of people during the war, but it is now almost exclusively the concentration camps in Germany attention as this was the losing side in the war.
John Wynn has here written about the situation inside the British concentration camps and Guy Aldred had the courage to compile and publish the book by 1943, while people were still sitting detained and imprisoned under the state’s discretion.
